Hello, I'm Caro - that's short for Caroline, but just stop at the line!
I'm one of those annoyingly organised humans who loves a good plan - and I'm genuinely passionate about helping people feel less overwhelmed by the stuff that really matters.
Because here's what I know. Most people mean to sort this. They just don't know where to start - and life keeps getting in the way.
That's exactly where I come in.
Most people think they need to go straight to a solicitor, financial adviser or accountant.
But before that … they need to get organised.
I help you gather everything, make decisions, and join the dots - so when you do speak to professionals, you’re prepared, confident, and not wasting time or money.
I help you get your life and later-life information sorted and in one place - so that when the time comes, the people you love aren't left doing detective work during one of the hardest moments of their lives.
While you have a voice, you have a choice. And I want to make sure it's heard loud and clear. I’m the step most people skip … and the one that makes everything else easier.
Why I do what I do
I've spent 35 years running businesses - including financial services, property, and software. I've worked in the NHS. I'm an independent funeral celebrant, a single mum of four, and an Amazon bestselling author.
I've seen a lot of life from a lot of angles.
But the thing that brought all of that together was helping my own mother navigate her later life planning. Powers of Attorney. Her Will. Funeral wishes. Pensions. Finances. Inheritance tax.
Crikey dicks - the number of strands we had to pull together.
And it made me realise how many people go straight to professionals without having this groundwork in place - which often costs more time, more money, and more stress than it needs to.
And I'm not just an observer of this stuff. I was that woman. Juggling everything. Trying to figure out where to even start. Doing it all while running a business and raising a family.
So I know exactly how overwhelming it feels before you begin - and I know how much lighter it feels once it's done.
That's why I created Your Final Matters. Not to scare people. Never to scare people. Just to make something that genuinely matters - actually manageable.
Walking the walk ...
My mum turned 92 this year. 🌻
For the last few years I've been right by her side - helping her sort her Will, her Powers of Attorney, her funeral wishes, her pension, her finances and her inheritance tax planning.
And I mean that - I didn't just point her in the right direction. I sat with her. I worked through it. I made the calls, asked the questions and held her hand through the bits that felt too big to face alone.
It's a lot. I won't pretend otherwise. But here's what I also know - doing it while she still had a voice and a choice meant everything. Her wishes are clear. Her paperwork is in order. And when the time comes, the people she loves won't be left guessing.
That's the gift of getting it sorted. And that's exactly what I want to help you give to yours.
When I'm not working ...
I'm a lover of the outdoors - tennis, padel, pickleball, running, swimming and generally just loving life.
I've lived abroad in Europe, India and the Middle East - and I still have the New Zealand passport to prove I'm not quite done yet! 😅
Travel highlights include walking the Great Wall of China, trekking in Nepal and seeing the Northern Lights. Which - if you're keeping score - means I've officially ticked off three things most people only ever put on a bucket list.
When I'm not off somewhere ridiculously far away, I also love painting, gardening, baking and spending quality time with my growing family.
